Autism Screening Tool (AQ-10)

This free autism screener uses the validated Autism Spectrum Quotient — 10 item version (AQ-10), available for adults and children. It is used by the NHS and recommended by NICE guidelines.

About the Screener

• 10 questions from the validated AQ-10 instrument
• Binary scoring (0–1 per question) — maximum 10 points
• Thresholds: below 4 = low risk, 4–5 = moderate risk, 6+ = high risk (NICE threshold)
• Available for adults and for children
• Question-specific agree/disagree scoring per official AQ-10 key

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects social communication, sensory processing, and behavioural flexibility. The AQ-10 is a widely-used brief screening tool but is not a diagnostic instrument.
